After a month of fundraising to create #saGROW scholarships, I’m happy to report that $1,000 was raised to help support two Student Affairs graduate students get to a national conference of their choice next spring. While I’m disappointed that I didn’t hit my original goal of $2,000, I’m happy that this money will still go to great use!
Many graduate students have asked how the recipients will be chosen. Today, I am thrilled shed some light on this. There will be a two phase process to get determine the two #saGROW scholarship recipients:
1. If you are currently matriculated in a Student Affairs or related graduate program, click here to make your best pitch as to why you deserve to earn an #saGROW scholarship. Over the next two months, I will invite the online Student Affairs community to read and vote on their favorites by Wednesday, August 31st.
2. A secret panel of judges will then take the top five ranked submissions and make the final decision based on content and creativity.
All finalists will be notified about the panel’s decision no later than Friday, September 9th.
If you know a Student Affairs Graduate Student who may be interested in a $500 scholarship towards a professional conference of their choice in the spring of 2012, please share this post with them and encourage them to participate!
Thanks again to the 25 generous donors who supported this effort: Niki Rudolph, Kelley McCarthy, Kelly Cuene, Rey Junco, Teri Bump, Bryan Koval, Lisa Endersby, Torry Brouillard-Bruce, Ann Marie Klotz, Julie P-Kirchmeier, Brian Gallagher, Liz Gross, Lynn Ellison, Erin Morrell, Michele DeVoe, Laurie Berry, Corey Zohlman, Joe Ginese, Carolyn Golz, Sean Cook, Eric Stoller, Chris Conzen, Andrea Hart, Nicholas Cole, and Phil Campbell.
