Welcome to my newly redesigned, refocused, and renewed “On the Go” blog! Take a look around for a minute before you read on and see what has changed. As June begins, I’m using the summer months to explore, experiment and try out some things I have always wanted to do, but never had. My goal is to discover what is possible from this platform since I know I have only begun to scratch the surface.
Here is some of the thinking that went into it:
Redesign
I wanted a cleaner looking design with a focus on the content. Using a white background with splashes of color, a newly designed header, and better use of images and video, I hope the site “pops” more for you. Overall, I want you to be able to read the content easier, find current conversations happening, and be able to share things easier with colleagues, friends, family etc., with less emphasis on “widgets”.
Refocus
My blog content will continue to be an online reflection of ideas, tips, education, and opinions that I share with people most often. I will also be adding more video content from interviews with people that I find interesting, to short video blog entries as well. I also will be inviting folks to guest blog on the site more often to find shared connections and introduce you to people who inspire me. This should keep it interesting, fresh and focused on what my blog should be focused on: good content.
Renewed
This redesign and refocus has renewed my focus on writing. I plan posting blog content at least twice a week and more if there are interesting things happening that I want to chime in on. My goals are to post every Tuesday and Thursday (since that is when my “analytics” say most of you are reading my blog anyway). This will keep me on a nice regular writing schedule and keep my mind active all summer
I’d like to thank Matt Cheuvront (@MattChevy) for all his work on redesigning my blog. His own blog “Life Without Pants” was an inspiration to action for moving my blog forward. He has become a great colleague and friend, once again proving the power of what Twitter can do for you professionally if you use your network properly.
So, what do you think of my new digs? What would you have done differently? I’d love your feedback and advice as move “On the Go”!

Very clean new look. A little “too” clean, Ed. What are you hiding?
I keep meaning to add your blog to my RSS. Guess I’ll have to do this now before I forget.
Sean
Thanks Sean
Not hiding a thing… I’m going to let it all out this summer! thanks for commenting and your support!
I’m glad that the fresh look has provided you with some renewed focus – funny how cleaning the place up a bit can do that for you, eh? I look forward to reading all you have to offer moving forward and of course, if there’s anything I can do, don’t hesitate to ask. Was an absolute pleasure working together on your site. Cheers!
The SEO consultant in me thinks that you should add your name after your post titles…that way your name gets associated with your content.
E.g. “Redesigned, Refocused, and Renewed | On the Go with Ed Cabellon”
Helps with bookmarking too in terms of author info…
Looks great Ed but where is your photo! Looking forward to reading your blog more regularly as I am making an effort to refocus and renew too!
Thanks Claudine!
Your site looks so awesome, Ed!!!! It is much cleaner and easier on the eyes. I think your goal to emphasize on the content was an excellent plan. Matt did such a good job!
